Perez Art Museum Miami opened its doors last week with an inaugural exhibition of work by the dissident Chinese artist Ai Weiwei.
"Ai Weiwei: According to What?" is a traveling exhibition that debuted at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., last year and then went on view at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
The new 120,000-square foot, $131-million museum presides over Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami. It was designed by the Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron.
