MOCA L.A. Taps Helen Molesworth as Chief Curator

The long-awaited appointment of a new curator has finally come for LA's Museum of Contemporary Art.
Helen Molesworth, the chief curator at Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art since 2010, has been tapped for the position, filling a void left after Paul Schimmel was forced out nearly two years ago.
The hire is a big step forward for Philippe Vergne, the new director at MOCA who started in March. He has been focused on building the endowment and growing curatorial staff for the once-floundering institution.
Molesworth will start Sept. 1.
