Detroit and the Detroit Institute of Arts have engaged a New York-based art advisory firm in preparation for trial in August.

The city and its renowned museum are having Artvest Partners prepare an appraisal of the city's art and arguments against the 66,000-piece collection from being sold or monetized to satisfy Detroit's creditors. Artvest staff may be called as expert witnesses in the trial.
