Winklevoss Twins Invest in Paddle8 Online Auctions

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the twins best known for their association with Facebook, announced this week an investment in online auctioneer Paddle8. 

A current investor in Paddle8 introduced the twins to the auctioneer because of their mutual interest in Bitcoin. Paddle8 CEO Aditya Julka told Fast Company, “Bitcoin lets us collect payments in many countries without dealing with many of the hassles.” But since Bitcoin is unregulated, it is not yet feasible for auction payments.

Paddle8 is now running a money-themed art auction (through July 24), featuring works by artists from Warhol to Koons.
