New Aspen Art Museum's Gift Shop Goes Upscale

The $45 million, 33,000-square-foot Shigeru Ban-designed building that houses the new Aspen Art Museum will offer visitors some museum-worthy items in its gift shop.
The non-collecting museum, with its freshly-minted endowment of $27 million, all from private donations, will have more than postcards for sale.
Among the highlights are18ct gold rings from German designer Karl Fritsch ($12,500) and a rubber-and-gold tire swing installation by Aaron Young ($23,000).
