Jackson Hole Art Auction Fetches Record $10M

The annual Jackson Hole Art Auction brought a record-setting $10 million on Saturday in Wyoming, reports Jackson Hole News & Media. Western art enthusiasts bid competitively to make it the top sale in the auction's eight year history.
Highlights included Thomas Moran’s “Devil’s Tower,” which fetched $1.1 million, and Howard Terpning's “Major North and the Pawnee Battalion” which went for $1.3 million.
Some 251 works were offered, and 208 lots sold Saturday, with more sales expected throughout the week.
