Hunter lives in the town of Bellow Falls, once a paper mill hub, where he paints the grittiness of forlorn factories and other vestiges of a fading industry. He is a plein air artist who employs a monochromatic palette for the effect of an old sepia photograph.

The Yale-educated artist says his work conveys “almost a simultaneous sense of possibility and regret."
