The seizure came a day after a court ordered the Marcos family to surrender the artwork on the grounds that they were acquired illegally through public funds.

 Imelda and her late husband, the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, and their family and friends, are accused of illegally amassing about $10 billion worth of assets from art to stocks. About half of this amount has been recovered.
