Hirst's Formaldehyde Fish, Warhol's Scream Lure Buyers at Frieze

Damien Hirst's formaldehyde fish ranked among the top sales during a $2.2 billion Frieze Week in London. Tickets to the fair in Regent's Park sold out and works by Picasso and Warhol sold quickly for seven-figure sums. The auction houses altogether pulled in about $373 million in a series of sales.
During the Frieze Art Fair preview, Hirst’s 1993 “Because I Can’t Have You I Want You,” a diptych of glass-enclosed fish in formaldehyde, brought 4 million pounds at the booth of White Cube. Andy Warhol's take on Munch's "The Scream" brought about $5.5 million at Skarstedt Gallery.
