An anonymous witness dubbed "Daylight" has come forward with details about the theft uncovered in 2010 of 302 artworks and objects worth over $250 million from a Turkish museum.
The Turkish news source Hurriyet reported that 3 out of 18 suspects had been arrested in the investigation. Ukranian artists made copies of works taken from the State Museum of Painting and Sculpture in Ankara. Museum staff facilitated the heist.
The witness, who is an antiques dealer, said he tried to alert authorities earlier, but received death threats.
Dozens of artworks are missing, and some have been sold through the auction and dealer market in Turkey.
