Dubai Plans $136 Million Museum of the Future

Museum of the Future, a planned exhibition space and research center, has been announced by Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. To be built near the Emirates Towers skyscrapers, the $136 million museum is designed to look like a giant contemporary water pitcher.

”The Museum of the Future will be an incubator for ideas and real designs, a driver for innovation and a global destination for inventors and entrepreneurs,” said Sheikh Mohammed at the launch.

Sections of the museums would focus oneducation, energy, transport, health care, and smart cities. There would also be a smart lobby, theatre and a restaurant/café in the museum, which is expected to open in 2017..

"Museum of the Future is integrated environment empowering creative minds to test, fund and market ideas for futuristic prototypes and services," tweeted Sheikh Mohammed. He says the space will attract inventors and entrepreneurs.
