Surreal Attractions at Art Basel Hong Kong

Crowds thronged an eerily life-like nude sculpture by Australian artist Sam Jinks at Art Basel Hong Kong, which ended March 17. Tens of thousands of visitors came to browse the booths of 233 worldwide galleries, half hailing from Asia.
Other works blurring the lines of real and unreal encompassed a mirror installation by Anish Kapoor with a warping "funhouse" effect and a giant blue butterfly by Damien Hirst that incorporated actual butterflies. View CNN's highlights.
Sales have been aplenty, including a painting titled "Dead Monkey - Sex, Money and Drugs," by Chris Ofili, that went for $2 million on opening night at the David Zwirner booth.
Fair director Adeline Ooi told CCN: "People are taking Hong Kong very seriously now. Some people say we've finally arrived."
