CM Russell's 'For Supremacy' Wrangles $1.5M at Auction

Western Art Week ended with an auction to benefit the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, on Saturday.
The Russell brought a total of just over $5.6 million, led by 3 three works by Western artist Charles M. Russell — two oils and a bronze — that sold for a combined $2.85 million.
Leading the sale was Russell's "For Supremacy," a scene depicting a battle between Blackfeet and Crow warriors, which sold for $1.5 million.
