Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is selling looted antiquities through eBay, Whatsapp, and Facebook in a fundraising effort.
After U.S.-led airstrikes depleted Islamic State's $1 million daily oil revenue by nearly two-thirds, militants turned to the $3 billion global antiquities market for cash.
Archaeologists estimate that as much as $300 million worth of antiquities are now flooding the market through Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan as part of Islamic State’s transactions, reports Bloomberg.
