An Actual Stabbing Mistaken as Performance Art at Art Basel

A section of exhibitor space at Art Basel Miami Beach was cordoned off with police tape after a stabbing on Friday night.
Some visitors to the NOVA section, which promotes young artists, thought a woman being stabbing was a performance art piece while others later considered the police tape as an art installation.
The victim was a patron who was stabbed in the neck and shoulder by another woman wielding an X-Acto knife. Her injuries were described as "non-life-threathening" by police.
Siyuan Zhao, 24, was identified as the alleged assailant by AJC.com, which also reported that Zhao told police she “had to kill (the victim) and two more” and that she “had to watch (the victim) bleed.”
