ARTFIXdaily will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday this week. Subscriber e-newsletter service will resume on Monday, November 26.

Thank you to our readers and contributors for keeping eyes on the art world, where we discover new perspectives, find beauty, and delight in ingenuity.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Shown above is a sumptuous Severin Roesen still life from the current exhibition at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, Calif., “American Beauty and Bounty,” on view through Jan 27, 2019.

This exhibiton with its 19th-century images relaying American abundance, optimism and wonderment, paired with the concurrent show of awe-inspiring California landscapes by Raymond Dabb Yelland, can be a poignant reminder to give generously to those affected by the wildfires in California.
