TEN:FORTY-TWO – that’s the golden ratio of the 2015 Main Line Antiques Show. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Show, the only antiques show held on Philadelphia’s Main Line. The excitement is also building with the participation of 42 outstanding exhibitors from the East coast and the Midwest, the largest group in the history of the Show.
Cabrini College in Radnor, PA will host the Show October 3 and 4, with an Opening Night Party Friday, October 2. The Wayne Hotel is the Presenting Sponsor. Mrs. J. Maxwell Moran and Mrs. S. Matthews V. Hamilton, Jr. are the Show’s Honorary Chairs. The Show Chair is Nick Vandekar.
The antiques companies exhibiting specialize in folk art, vintage purses, prints, furniture, decorative arts, textiles, ceramic, silver, Staffordshire and more. Some exhibitors have been with the Show throughout its 10 years, including Lorraine Wambold Fine Estate Jewelry, Marvin Baer, Sheila Ferguson Victorian Staffordshire and R. Hollingshead Antiques. There are also some dealers new to the Show such as H. L. Chalfant Fine Art and Antiques, Diana H. Bittel Antiques, Leatherwood Antiques and Philip H. Bradley Co. Long standing returning dealers include Hollie Powers Holt Fine Art, Wesley T. Sessa Antiques, Van Tassel-Baumann American Antiques, James Kilvington, Stevens Antiques, Dixon-Hall Fine Art, Johanna Antiques, and Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge.
“The cultivation and expansion of the Show over the past decade have culminated in a banner year,” commented Lauren Christiansen, Main Line Antiques Show Committee member. “We have extraordinary dealers, each with a beautiful and storied collection of exquisite antique items for purchase. When you step into our Show, you enter a world of stories, really – tales of provenance, of history and of incredible survival. What makes these pieces unique is precisely that they were cherished over generations.” Booth talks throughout the Show weekend will invite listeners to learn about the story behind individual pieces.
The Show’s beneficiary is Surrey Services for Seniors, a non-profit organization serving 8,100 older adults and headquartered in Devon.
