NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Gabrielle Kruger in The 33rd Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens August 14, 2018 and runs through August 25,  2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 16 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

South African artist Gabrielle Kruger reimagines the traditional Western landscape painting through her unique practice of painting acrylic onto a canvas and then freeing the paint from its surface once dry. The paint becomes an independent, three-dimensional object ‒ a painting in its most absolute form. Her work aims to rearticulate the language and meaning associated with the natural environment.

Kruger has exhibited widely within South Africa and will show internationally for the first time in 2018. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town.
