NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of María Alejandra Ibáñez in Chelsea International Photography Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens February 19 and runs through February 28, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Artist María Alejandra Ibáñez focuses on the simple things in life, choosing to photograph inanimate objects and the spaces they inhabit. In Rastro, we see a single armchair, bathed in a wistful light. The chair becomes the subject, carefully keeping a depth of nostalgia and layers of quiet reflection. The artist shows us the relationship between the objects we use and the memories that define us. Once a life passes away, memories and objects are all that’s left.
