Award-Winning Portrait and Figurative Artist Alia El-Bermani To Guest Lecture At Alma Mater Laguna College Of Art And Design

Laguna Beach, CA (March 4, 2016) – Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) announced Alia El-Bermani, Art Renewal Center’s International ARC Salon finalist, founder of Women Painting Women and LCAD alumna will present a guest lecture about her career and current studio work from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., March 10, 2016 at LCAD Main Campus, Studio 8, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, California. The public is welcome to attend.
While still a student in LCAD’s BFA program in Fine Arts, renowned as one of the few programs in the nation for classical figurative training, El-Bermani received the Plotkin Award for Excellence in Fine Arts. El-Bermani went on to graduate summa cum laude from LCAD in 2000 with her BFA in Fine Arts.
“We are very proud of Alia’s continued evolution and success as a fine artist,” said Hope Railey, chair of LCAD’s BFA program in Fine Arts. “Her figurative and still life paintings and drawings have been included in several group shows across the country and have been showcased in the Palm Springs Desert Museum, the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, the West Valley Art Museum in Arizona, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art and, most recently, at the Greenville Museum of Art in North Carolina.”
El-Bermani is a member of the Portrait Society of America and is a co-founder of the acclaimed blog, Women Painting Women. She was a Finalist in the figurative category of the prestigious Art Renewal Center’s 2010-2011 International ARC Salon.
