BORIS LURIE EXHIBITION EXTENDED
- PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania
- /
- December 13, 2012
Due to unprecedented demand the David David Gallery has extended the Boris Lurie "No Art" Show to January 4th, 2013. This is an ideal opportunity to view an important survey of Lurie's work which is rarely seen outside of Museum Exhibitions. Nearly one-half of the fifty works in the Exhibition are available for purchase.
We hope you will take advantage of the new timeline and enjoy the powerful social messages conveyed through this extraordinary man's vision. He had the courage and determination not to sell out to commercialism but rather make a statement of relevance with references to the ills of society as he saw them. He was a reporter who told it with vivid reality and unmistakable clarity and dared not slant the truth as he painted what he lived.
Boris Lurie's work will have a permanent place in American Art History as it keeps the balance between what was real and what was fancified by other Abstract Artists of the era.....
Major Museum Exhibitions of Lurie's works have been mounted in Berlin, Jerusalem, New York (Chelsea Museum), illinois, Iowa, Houston, Moscow, Florence and soon, Cologne, Lisbon and Beijing.
The David David Gallery will be exhibiting several of the Boris Lurie Works for sale at The Palm Beach Jewelry Art & Antiques Show over Presidents Day weekend (February 15-19, 2013) Gallery #416
