NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Per Bix in Chelsea International Photography Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens February 19 and runs through February 28, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

The photographs of Danish artist Per Bix are as beautiful as they are intriguing. Bix often works in series, combining Minimalist and Surrealist sensibilities to create original, open-ended and poetic narratives. The stark beauty of the photograph entitled “Four O’clock of Loneliness,” for example, results in part from the formal perfection of its composition, based on the relationship between light and dark rectangles. But time and psychology referenced in the title transform the image into an enigmatic story. Light, shadow, and emptiness become characters in a psychologically charged narrative.
