Antiques Weeks Media Welcomes Laura Fisher as Guest Blogger and Announces Intern Appointments

NEW YORK CITY. Antiques Weeks Media, LLC, parent company of the popular destination websites Art&Design20.com, AmericanaWeek.com and AsiaWeekGuide.com, among others, is pleased to announce that Laura Fisher of FISHER-HERITAGE Gallery will be a guest contributor. Additionally, the company announces the appointment of two interns, Elizabeth Kott and Jocelyn Packman, both of whom will serve as junior editors.
Regina Kolbe, President of Antiques Weeks Media, which publishes the convenient, one-stop colletors' guides explained, “There's nothing like original content to engage and empwer viewers. We are making great efforts to provide readers with content they won't find elsewhere. The blogs support the Events pages that provide an overview of category-specific shows, exhibitions and lectures in any given category."
Laura Fisher, of FISHER-HERITAGE Gallery, which offers the nation’s largest selection of hooked rugs, vintage textiles and American Folk Art, has already begun writing for AmericanaWeek.com. Recent posts include “The Modern Art of Antique Quilts,” which advances the theory that early quilt designs have informed iconic modern paintings, including those by Frank Stella, Sol LeWitt, Jasper Johns, Ellsworth Kelly, Andy Warhol and more.
Ms. Fisher’s publications include "Diamonds and Bars: The Art of the Amish Quilt" and "Quilts of Illusion: Optical Illusion Design in Antique Quilts." Her writing has also appeared also in Quiltmania, the French quilting magazine, Country Living Magazine, the Catalogue of Antiques & Fine Art, and Rug Hooking Magazine.
Supporting the guest bloggers and providing original content are two interns serving as junior editors. They are Elizabeth Kott and Jocelyn Packman.
Elizabeth Kott is a recent NYU grad with a B.A. in Art History. In addition to her knowledge and continuing curiosity, Kott has worked at Hendershot Gallery in New York as well OHWOW gallery in Miami.
Jocelyn Packman, a Sarah Lawrence College alum, concentrated on Art History and Literature. She brings a particular appreciation for pre-20th Century art and design to the table.
Both Elizabeth Kott and Jocelyn Packman will provide regularly scheduled posts for the Antiques Weeks Media sites, represent the firm at media events, and cover live events of interest to readers.
This news follows the reent announcement that Maureen Stanton, author of the award winning book “Killer Stuff and Tons of Money,” has authored a two part series called "Eye of the Beholder," which debuted on Art&Design20.com on October 8. Part 2 of the series appears on Tuesday, October 16.
Ms. Stanton currently teaches creative nonfiction at the University of Missouri. Her writing has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, Fourth Genre, River Teeth, The Florida Review, Crab Orchard Review, The Sun as well as anthologies including Best of The Sun, Best of Brevity and Best Texas Writing.
