NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of César Zúñiga in The Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition. The exhibition opens December 5 and runs through December 15, 2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 6 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Artist César Zúñiga creates mysterious black-and-white images with light as the protagonist. Across dark frames, Zúñiga directs our eye to narrow patches of light as we search for a recognizable subject.

In the diptych Bogotá Colombia/San Pedro de Atacama Chile, we see the light pour over the contours of a bare-chested man. In the next frame, the light sparkles over a trickling stream, bringing it to life against an otherwise bleak landscape. Infusing his work with palpable contrast, Zúñiga lets the light tell its own story as it provides an escape from the encroaching darkness.
