Early Action in Late January is All Jewelry and Silver

Fine jewelry and silver selections have become the focal point of the second sale in January at Clarke Auction.
With a number of pieces coming from an important local collector, the selection will host a special array of quality diamond accessories. Among the anticipated best sellers is a pair of vintage 18kt yellow gold earrings. The attraction of this particular lot rests in the three sections inlaid with diamonds and the central 8mm pearl that is bracketed by onyx and two pink colored faceted gems. The length of 2.25” inches also lends to the elegance of proportion. The pair will be offered at an estimate of $2,000/$3,000.
Parts of the collection brought to sale on the 31st will also show a bracelet lot that matches the quality of the aforementioned pearl feature. The quadruple strand pearl and diamond bracelet has four pearl strands separated by 5 diamond accented white gold bars. The conservative estimate is under $1,000 and should perform well given the addition of the large elaborate 14kt white gold clasp with round and marquis cut diamonds and baguettes.
To immediately follow the bracelet is an 18kt gold and diamond necklace. The choker style piece is crafted in yellow gold and has beautifully accented sections of both diamonds and 18kt white gold. The shine is remarkable and owes much of its splendor to the 140 total number of diamonds. The $3,000/$5,000 estimate should prove conservative as the quality and transitional style may boost its initial appeal come auction day. The necklace is in good company with a preceding lot of U. Bellini which features a magnificent articulated 18kt gold and diamond bracelet at a $1,500/$2,500 estimate.
A Victorian charm bracelet is another example of a unique item that may take an alternate route toward success in the sale. The example available on January 31st at Clarke is comprised of a collection of 12 various and highly unique clock keys. The keys are crafted in various materials and include pieces of coral, amethyst, turquoise, Scottish hardstone, enamel, and more. The keys are paired with a single heart form lock at the bracelet center which completes the piece charmingly. The bracelet itself is 14kt gold and will be presented at $600/$900.
The jewelry will be accompanied in the section with some remarkable and important pieces of sterling silver as well. The featured lot is a set of 6 Samurai Shokal Yokohama chargers. The exceptional collection features three chargers with repousse Acacia borders and etched interior decoration. The three additional chargers feature the same decorative themes replaced with Iris specimen. The quality is evident in the delicate and pronounced textural elements in the background design. The six will be auctioned at $6,000/$9,000.
Other silver lots include an impressive Mexican sterling tea service estimated $1,500/$2,500, a grouping of Tiffany & Co. sterling serving pieces estimated $400/$600, and a Tiffany repousse tea service estimated $500/$700.
To close the section and complete the auction in whole, Clarke will offer a number of fine quality jewelry and sterling lots not previously mentioned. The mixed sale will also feature a volume of fine art, decorative art and furniture, modern design, contemporary furnishing and design, Asian objects and artwork, and much more.
