Spring Place - an innovative new collaborative workspace and social membership club alongside New York’s creative hub Spring Studios, opened on June 1st 2016.
A unique social and professional experience combined, Spring Place will provide its members with the hospitality of a boutique hotel, the exclusivity of a private members’ club and the services of a world-class professional office suite. Spring Place will redefine work, leisure and cultural life for a select community of global influencers, creative entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
Set alongside New York’s world-renowned cultural hub, Spring Studios, Spring Place offers members a unique opportunity to connect with likeminded creatives and industries, empowering them to forge new relationships and partnerships that will enhance their work and social life. Spring Place is an escape from the traditional corporate style business exchanges, tapping into sophisticated socialization and heralding a new way of living, working and connecting.
During the exclusive friends and family May preview, Spring Place hosted some of the most prestigious events surrounding Frieze, the DKNY x New Museum x W Magazine party on May 3rd in celebration of the launch of the New Women's Project and the Jeff Koons x Google launch of their collaborative “live” phone case on May 9th.
DKNY Creative Directors Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne, along with New Museum Director Lisa Phillips and W Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief Stefano Tonchi welcomed their arts, culture and social elite crowd in Spring Place’s gorgeous setting. Jaden Smith and Alexandra Richards danced the night away to tunes spun by DJs May Kwok, Mia Moretti and Margot. Gallerist David Maupin, artist Francesco Vezzoli, and Michael Avedon were also spotted throughout the night.
A number of days later, Spring Place welcomed another top tier crowd courtesy of the Koons x Google event, including Victor Cruz, Leigh Lezark, Jeffrey Deitch, Almine Rech-Picasso, Laura de Guznburg, Amy Sedaris and Hari Nef. Guests were treated to a performance by New York City Ballet dancers Ashley Laracey and Troy Schumacher – marveling at one of Koons’ infamous blue ‘gazing balls’ that featured throughout the performance (the gazing ball has graced many a gallery including Gagosian, David Zwirner and The Whitney).
The membership club also has an entire floor of dedicated workspace for fashion, art, design and cultural innovators and has received a huge response from their preview month.
LIVE
The social club at Spring Place will offer multiple high quality eating, drinking and entertaining offerings. These include an all-day restaurant, bar and lounge, two private dining rooms, a sunken living room and an 11,000-square-foot rooftop with views across Manhattan. A place for members to meet for breakfast, and stay for lunch through dinner. It will house a private cinema and music room, enlivened by a full calendar of events, workshops, screenings and other cultural programs. This innovative in-house programming will include curated guest speakers and performances, classes, receptions, dinners and events hosted in partnership with leading brands, publications, personalities and institutions. Members of Spring Place will gain access to Spring’s event spaces, green rooms, and studios at a special Spring members’ rate.
WORK
Spring Place’s fully-serviced collaborative workspace offers members a communal gallery, executive suites, temporary showrooms, conference rooms and boardrooms, all offering fully flexible working in a variety of state-of-the-art spaces. Members also receive numerous benefits, including access to Spring’s events, production and editing suites, world-class concierge services, high-speed and secure internet, a reference library, private catering and technological support for day-to-day problem solving.
CONNECT
Spring Place will become a platform for fashion, art, and entertainment as well as a place for new and upcoming designers, photographers and editors seeking inspiration, and creative connections. A place where songwriters meet singers and where entrepreneurs meet creative financiers. Spring Place is in essence, a member’s home away from home and an office without the need for an office; a place to socialize, collaborate, and connect but with the utmost sense of discretion and privacy.
IMPECCABLE DESIGN & LOCATION
The interiors of Spring Place are reminiscent of mid-20th century Brazilian brutalism, comparable to works by Oscar Niemeyer and the Italian architect Carlo Scarpa. Cement and concrete panelling play a significant role in the interior design, as well as wooden floors, black steel and floor-to-ceiling windows. Furnishings are in the main specially identified and sourced mid-century modernist inspired pieces, as well as a small number of bespoke finishings which have been made to order.
Spring Place’s first location encompasses 140,000 Sqft in the heart of the TriBeCa neighbourhood of New York City, situated between Soho, the West Village and the Hudson River Park. Characterised by its diverse resident mix and exciting dining and nightlife scene, the neighbourhood is seeing constant evolution, from new projects by Herzog & de Meuron to a host of new restaurants to sit alongside Michelin-starred favourites. Spring Place is 2016’s most important new opening in this vibrant and ever-changing corner of New York, and in the city as a whole. Spring Place will follow in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Milan.
