NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Ada Luisa Trillo  in The 33rd Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens August 14, 2018 and runs through August 25,  2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 16 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Raised on the Mexican/American border, interdisciplinary artist Ada Luisa Trillo explores the social problems affecting women of the border towns. Her latest photo documentary series depicts low-cost sex workers in Mexico, aiming to expose the adversity that exploited women face in their daily lives while de-glamorizing prostitution.

Trillo studied in Italy and then Philadelphia, where she now lives. In addition to her art, she speaks at conferences and universities on women’s issues and human trafficking. Her photographs have been featured by Huffington Post and are included in the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s permanent collection.
