NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Emily Jones in The 33rd Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens August 14, 2018 and runs through August 25,  2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 16 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Through work that synthesizes traditional training with contemporary realism, Australian artist Emily Jones explores themes of light and life, isolation and connection, joy and melancholy, and identity and place. Her urbanscapes conjure a sense of setting without being too specific about their original context; inviting the viewer to establish their own story.

Jones was born in Sydney and now lives in Hobart, Tasmania where she focuses on her commission and exhibition work and teaches art. She has exhibited throughout Australia and New York. In 2014, Jones studied in London and at Italy’s Florence Academy of Art. This is the second consecutive year that Jones' work has been selected by the jury for the Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition.
