How deep is the Ocean?
Jacqueline Real at RED DOT Miami 2013
by Dr. Barbara Aust-Wegemund, Art Historian
Red Dot Miami is a highly successful art fair taking place concurrent with Art Basel Miami Beach. Up to 80 national and international dealers exhibit contemporary photography, painting, sculpture and works on paper in a luxurious 50,000 square foot venue.
Focused on a boutique art fair for galleries specializing in emerging, mid- career and established artists, RED DOT presents values beyond current trends. Located across the street from other high caliber art fairs such as Art Miami, Scope and Art Asia in Miami's Wynwood Art District, RED DOT holds a prime location. The luxurious layout of the tented venue provides visitors with a sophisticated and friendly environment.
Various exhibitors are looking forward to participate in RED DOT Miami from different parts of the country as well as from abroad. Lots of renowned personalities from the world of art will be sharing their experiences to the visitors. The exhibitors not only from the US States but also from round the world will be a part of this event.
Jacqueline Real is delighted, that her New York based gallerist Serge Gregorian invited her to show her works in Miami. There is nowhere else a comparable place than during Art Basel Miami Week where so many art lovers are connecting each other and share their passion for art. “My pictures are abstractions from nature or expression of the subconscious", Jacqueline Real explains, “my aim is to show a balance between form and colour, static and dynamic forces and at the same time express, with different shades of light, a strong felt spiritual presence.”
Jacqueline Real lives in Ascona (Switzerland), well known venue for artists but is also inspired by the landscape, charme and unique quality of light on regular vistits to St. Ives, the important center for modern art in England. She studied Fine Art and Painting in Zurich (Switzerland), master class at the International School of Modern Art in Salzburg (Austria) and continued her studies in Meran (Italy).
No doubt, that her paintings are reflecting her intimate dialogue with nature - the close observation of landscape, mountains, the sky and the sea, changing seasons and light and the influence of time and eternity.
Despite some committment to a systematic approach, Jacqueline‘s paintings reflect a symbiosis between formal abstraction and sensory imagery. Balancing between abstraction and figuration arises of its own dynamic flow. Feel the “Spirit of the Sea”. How deep is the ocean – and how vast is the universe?
