23 South Florida artists have been chosen to be featured in the “At Home Art” showcase area of the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show. The Home Show takes place Labor Day Weekend from September 2-6, 2016 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The #AtHomewithArt feature area is an opportunity for show-goers to meet South Florida artists and see a sample of their work. Artists are selected through a submission process, based on not only their commitment to their profession, but also their dedication to the Visual Arts Community. This commitment is reflected in their work in education or non-profit organizations, and events that benefit the public's awareness of the local art scene.

Edouard Duval-Carrié, Creative Director of the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance will exhibit a work and be on hand at the Home Show to speak to show-goers about this non-profit organization to which he is Artistic Director and Co-Founder. Carl Juste curates an exhibit of works by photojournalists: Charles Trainor Jr., Jennifer Kay, Marice Cohn Band, C.W. Griffin, and Patrick Farrell.

Within six booths grouped together, show-goers can meet their art and see a curated exhibit of paintings, sculptures, and photography. Often artists will sketch or paint onsite while taking the time to explain creative process and intention, allowing the viewer to engage with the work on a deeper level.

Representatives from three non-profit arts organizations will also be onsite: Viernes Culturales/Little Havana Art District; Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance; and Little Haiti Mural Project (LHMP).

“I can say that 99% of my art collection is made up of works from artists I have either met or interacted with personally. I feel that it's so important to have some kind of context behind the signature, to know the little things that factor into the inspirations and processes that make each artist unique,” comments Yuval Ofir, Founder and Curator of the Little Haiti Mural Project (an offshoot of Art Beat Miami started in 2014.) “For me, it gives an added appreciation to each piece I acquire when I have a personal story associated with it. That's what makes the Home Design and Remodeling Show such a great opportunity for the artists who get to participate. They get to have that one on one interaction with the people who, at the end of the day, are the ones who hold the key to collector's homes and hearts.”
