NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Rainer Stark in Chelsea International Photography Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens February 19 and runs through February 28, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.
About the Artist
The artistry of Rainer Stark hinges on analogy. Coffee grains rubbed into wood might collectively resemble a face or, similarly, the method of frottage comes to mind. What’s essential is that an image is captured in its raw state and after effects and post-production should only clarify this original subject-matter.
Across The Ocean For A Better Life - Impression of a rusted boat hull offers an illustration of Stark’s aesthetics. The rust photographed on the hull of a boat resembles a seascape—a material remnant of the watery elements that have brushed against it for many years.
