Paul Brown was the star of Auction Kings for 97 episodes, and now can be seen on another reality series, Endless Yard Sale.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Much like the wrongly reported news of Mark Twain’s death, reports of the demise of Gallery 63 are greatly exaggerated. The venerable Atlanta auction house has been on hiatus while owner Paul Brown was off being a TV star – first with the hit series Auction Kings on Discovery and now with Endless Yard Sale on the Great American Country network (GAC).

But Gallery 63 is rising from the ashes like a phoenix for one final hurrah, and it’s going to be a big one – the liquidation of a monumental single-owner jewelry collection, amassed by a jewelry wholesaler who’s selling it all before sailing into retirement. Sold will be around 150 lots of very fine jewelry, by famous makers such as Tiffany, Cartier, Rolex, David Yurman and many others.

The auction will be held on Friday, February 5th, at 7 p.m. Eastern time, in Gallery 63’s facility at 4577 Roswell Road in Atlanta (where all 97 episodes of Auction Kings were shot), in the city's Buckhead design district. All lots will be posted for viewing by Jan. 20 at the Gallery 63 website: www.gallery63.net. Online bidding will be available soon afterward, via LiveAuctioneers.com.

“This sale will feature well-known designer pieces by the top names in jewelry,” Paul Brown said. “We’ll have watches, rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants, sets, diamond studs, solitaire rings, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and more – just about anything a man or woman might desire. Oh, and did I mention? Any one of these items would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift.”

People may register for the auction in person at Gallery 63 beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. A catered cocktail reception will be held at Gallery 63 on auction day, Feb. 5, from 5-7 p.m. Previews will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 3-4, from 11-4; and on Friday, Feb. 5, starting at 11 a.m. and continuing thru the cocktail reception until the first gavel falls at 7 p.m.

After Auction Kings ended its long and successful run, Mr. Brown signed on to host and help develop Endless Yard Sale for GAC. Since that job required so much travel, he decided to lease his Gallery 63 property and devote all of his time and effort to making the new show a success. In other words, he’d already clocked out of the auction business. Then he got a telephone call.

“This was about a month ago,” Brown said. “The call was from a longtime consignor who’s been a jewelry wholesaler for 40 years but said he wanted to leave the business, retire and, as he put it, ‘go sit on a boat.’ He wanted me to liquidate everything, and opportunities like this only present themselves once in a lifetime. That’s how superb this jewelry is. So here I am, back in business.”

Brown added, “The fact that we’re approaching Valentine’s Day is pure serendipity. Everything just came together that way. It’s going to be a fantastic auction, whether you’re buying for your sweetheart, or as an investment – and believe me, these are investment-grade items – or both. If I was ever going to do another auction, I couldn’t have asked for a better situation. It’s game on!”

Fans of Auction Kings will be pleased to learn that, in addition to Paul Brown, some of the same staff and crew from the TV show will be at the auction, to include Cindy, Gallery 63’s longtime office manager and an Auction Kings favorite. So successful was the TV show during its 3 ½-year run, Paul Brown made guest celebrity appearances afterwards, at antique shows and fairs. Brown is still available for such appearances. Now, much of his time is spent ensuring the success of Endless Yard Sale, the pilot episode for which aired in early 2015. The show got green-lighted for a full season that was shot at various places around the country last summer. New episodes aired in November and December, and a new season is set to begin filming this coming summer. It’s taken up the bulk of Brown’s time.
