NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Lizzy Forrester in Spring Awakenings. The exhibition opens April 28, 2018 and runs through May 18,  2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, May 3 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Oil painter Lizzy Forrester creates timeless, poetic landscapes that capture the enduring energy and innate beauty of nature. For Forrester, the act of painting is akin to composing classical music; it is the emotional and subjective translation of the sublime into something experiential. Embracing Buddhist philosophies, the artist paints from an inner place of peace, depicting what is sensed and perceived rather than what is seen.

In Bandstand in the Park and Cotswolds Old Stone Bridge, Forrester renders an idyllic gazebo and a subtle, sloped bridge, the architectural remnants peeking through a lush, vital landscape of rich blooms and clear waters. Morning Sunlight and From Deep Within each capture the dance of natural light on flora and fauna. Using painterly dabs and flecks, Forrester renders visible the poetic nature of her simple subjects. Finally, the artist’s saturated trio titled Bluebell Woodland Triptych is an immersive representation of a fecund forest, the abstracted leaves and flowers representing the energetic spirit of the wooded landscape that buzzes with hidden life and vivacity.
