For the third year in a row, Sean Cutting, President of Cutting Edge Homes, Architects + Builders has taken a leadership role as the Gold Sponsor for Boston Design Week, a 12-day citywide design festival with 80 + events taking place March 29 – April 9, 2017.
Cutting, who is under 30 years of age, heads up one of the most prestigious and successful custom home and remodeling businesses in the Boston area. “We think differently,” comments Sean. “And Boston Design Week thinks differently -- every year feels more exciting than the last. Fostering brilliant design is essential to moving a progressive city like Boston forward, and therefore it’s essential to what we do at Cutting Edge Homes. So, of course I’m thrilled to help our local design community and bring younger people to the forefront to support art and design in these times that threaten to erode government support.”
Cutting Edge’s Sponsorship allows Boston Design Week to invite non-profit organizations to be Partners in the festival at minimal cost. This year, more than 20 organizations and colleges are participating including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Peabody Essex Museum, The MIT Museum, Fuller Craft Museum, Boston Society of Architects, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, New England School of Art and Design, Artists for Humanity, Boston Center for the Arts, Society of Arts and Crafts, and numerous others.
Cutting Edge Homes itself is also hosting an event in collaboration with the new 7 Tide Experience Center in the Seaport District. The event, “Feng Shui, Room by Room: Transforming Your Home into a Sanctuary,” will take place Thursday evening March 30th with noted feng shui expert Natalia Kaylin. The program will take participants on a journey through the home, sharing examples of feng shui design elements for each room. “Of course we wanted to do something different,” notes Cutting, and this workshop unveils the power of your surroundings — and awakens people to the impact of color, artwork, and the influence of placement in your home.”
Additionally, Cutting Edge Homes will be on site at AD20/21 Gala Preview and the weekend show, April 6-9. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, AD20/21 show features 50 art and design exhibitors in the culminating 4-day event of Boston Design Week. Members of the Cutting Edge Homes team will be available to answer questions and provide expert advice on the home renovation and the custom building process. www.AD2021.com The Gala Preview will celebrate Boston Design Week and benefit Design Museum Boston.
