NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Oluwatobi Adewumi in The 33rd Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens August 14, 2018 and runs through August 25,  2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 16 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

The hyper-realism of Nigerian-born Oluwatobi Adewumi forms a piece with some semblance of a native narrative. For Adewumi, art is a gift which serves as a conduit to share the stories of people and places in different society and cultures within the continent of Africa, of which one might not be familiar. His charcoal on paper work, titled Beyond the Beauty, shows a strikingly beautiful woman displaying confidence while wearing the both fashion and cultural jewelry, representative of a history that might not be known apart from herself and those closest to her.
