A Hitler-inscribed two-volume set of “Mein Kampf”, the manifesto of future Fuhrer Adolf Hitler, will be auctioned by Nate D. Sanders on March 26. Interested bidders may participate in the auction online.
Both volumes are signed by Hitler and include a handwritten note of dedication to Philipp Bouhler. Bouhler was the twelfth (12th) member of the Nazi party and a leader of the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, a Hitler-led coup attempting to overthrow the Bavarian government. Hitler likely gave the two volumes as Christmas gifts to Bouhler in 1925 and 1926 respectively. Bouhler became a prominent senior Nazi leader who was a Reichsleiter and Chief of the Chancellery of the Fuhrer of the NSDAP. He was responsible for the Nazi Aktion program, which murdered over 70,000 disabled adults and children in Germany.
Hitler’s handwritten inscription in Volume I reads, “To Herr Philipp Bouhler / in grateful recognition of your loyal work for our movement on the occasion of Christmas 1925 / inscribed most sincerely / Adolf Hitler / Munich, December 24, 1925.” In Volume II, the future Fuhrer handwrote, ''To Herr Philipp Bouhler / on the occasion of Christmas inscribed most sincerely as a sign of recognition of your performance of duties / Adolf Hitler / Munich, December 24, 1926.''
Hitler wrote, “Mein Kampf” while in prison from 1923 to 1924. The books outlined his political doctrine for Germany and blamed the country’s economic woes on the Jews, Marxists, Social Democrats and the Weimar Republic leadership.
The lot also includes a Bouhler-written 1938 Hitler propaganda pamphlet.
In February 2014, Nate D. Sanders sold a pair of Hitler inscribed “Mein Kampf” volumes dedicated to SS Officer Josef Bauer for $64,850.
Bidding for the “Mein Kampf” volumes begins at $35,000.
