Josefina F Moran, In the Living Room, Digital on Fine Art Paper, 13'' x 19''

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of  Josefina F Moran in The Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition. The exhibition opens December 5 and runs through December 15, 2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 6 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Artist Josefina F. Moran is known for her stark, unvarnished photographs of women. In the series about her mother, Tatiana, entitled Tati, Moran takes an intimate look at her aging mother as she putters around a narrow urban interior. Instead of traditional portraits, Moran focuses on the details of Tati’s existence: a purple comforter, a pearl necklace, the shades on the window.

In My Mother with Light, Moran invites the viewer to partake in a still moment that is at once quietly pensive and poignantly haunting. Moran carefully captures the light which streams in through the window and embraces the figure, blending warmth into an otherwise raw, yet telling, photograph.
