NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Ulla Skov Jensen in Chelsea International Photography Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens February 19 and runs through February 28, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

Traditional portraiture collides with modern technology in the photographic works of artist Ulla Skov Jensen.

Reminiscent of the Dutch Golden Age, works like NL1600-Goldenage-DK2018-Aging-ES and NL1600-Goldenage-DK2018-Aging-KP feature older women dressed in 17th Century style attire listening to headphones and playing with smartphones. Caught between time periods, her subjects help us connect to the people of past, reminding us that small technological advances do little to change the substance of life. Exuding confidence and resilience, we get the sense that these women are living their best lives regardless of which time period they call home.
