Late additions to an already strong midcentury selection at Clarke Auction will include a pair of pierced brass dome and 24 light floral bobeche chandeliers attributed to Paavo Tynell, along with a special experimental-sized Harry Bertoia wire spray sculpture.

The Tynell chandeliers are a pair that have come from a distinguished Supper Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to the consignor. They have characteristic material and design elements that illuminate their Finnish design aesthetics.

Another important lot, the Bertoia spray sculpture is of smaller than usual size (17.5" h) and is the mate to one that recently hammered for $5,000 at Rago.  The one that will be offered at Clarke also has a certificate of authenticity from Harry Bertoia's son, Val Bertoia.

These two important lots will highlight a selection of top quality vintage and midcentury pieces that include many designers, from Vladimir Kagan to Ray and Charles Eames, as well as a number of quality Italian lighting lots and design elements from Fontana Arte. The previews will continue in house at Clarke Auction, Saturday, November 15th from 12pm to 6pm EST and the sale will begin at 12noon EST on Sunday, November 16th.
