NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Valerie Meyer in Chelsea International Photography Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens February 19 and runs through February 28, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, February 21 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

The realism of Valerie Meyer’s photography depends on emphasis. Her photos aspire to show what we don’t ordinarily see, because we seem to have little time to look at our surroundings. This is only confirmed by the bucolic subjects she focuses her lens on, which preserve their natural coloration.

Apres L'Orage Au Printemps shows a quiet landscape still earmarked by the greyness of a recently departed storm. One can see the most essential elements of the photo (the tree, the mountain, the clouds) double themselves in the lake, creating a kind of resonance, an echo of the harmony captured by the photo.
