The Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) has announced the exhibitors for the 2016 edition of The Art Show, the nation’s most respected and longest-running art fair. Held annually in New York at The Park Avenue Armory, the 2016 edition will take place on March 2-6, 2016, with a Gala Preview on March 1 to benefit Henry Street Settlement.

Organized by the ADAA, a nonprofit membership organization of art dealers from around the country, The Art Show offers collectors, arts professionals, and the public the opportunity to engage with artworks of the highest quality through intimately scaled and thoughtfully curated presentations that encourage close looking and active conversation with art experts.

Each year, ADAA members wishing to participate in The Art Show submit proposals that outline inventive curatorial concepts for single artist, dual, or group exhibitions – a process which ensures the high standard of artistic quality and connoisseurship that has become synonymous with the fair.

For this year’s edition, The ADAA’s Art Show Committee selected 72 proposals out of more than 100 galleries’ submissions, providing audiences a rich selection of works from the late 19th century through today by artists of a variety of genres, practices, and national and international origin.

Highlights include works by the installation artist Rebecca Horn presented by Sean Kelly Gallery, paintings by the Harlem Renaissance portraitist Beauford Delaney presented by Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, and figurative works by the renowned British artist Lucian Freud presented by Acquavella Galleries.

“For ADAA members, The Art Show presents the opportunity to go beyond the traditional art fair presentation and create thoughtfully curated booths that are representative of their profound knowledge of art and the market. For our visitors, the show offers a rare, unrushed viewing experience during the flurry of New York’s Art Week, and perhaps most critically and uniquely for an art fair, the opportunity to meet, speak with, and learn from art experts directly on the floor,” said ADAA President Dorsey Waxter.

Adam Sheffer, Chairman of The Art Show, added, “Every year our members’ proposals grow stronger and more creative, and our goal in selecting exhibitors is to create as vibrant and thought-provoking a fair experience as possible through a dynamic mix of artists and genres. The diverse and carefully curated offerings at The Art Show are true reflections of the global breadth of art and market expertise represented by our members, as well as their critical contributions to the international art market and cultural community.”
