This live webinar will take a historic look at how the market
for Spanish Colonial art has developed. Where were
we forty years ago and where are we today? What
and who has driven these changes? Topics will include
recent hits and misses at auction, increasing institutional
interest, museum exhibitions, curatorial positions and
scholarship. Issues specific to this field such as national
patrimony laws and the challenges of finding comparable
works for appraisals and valuations will all be discussed.
