Spring Awakenings: Re-Visioning the Ordinary
https://www.agora-gallery.com/ExhibitionAnnouncement/Spring_4_28_2018.aspx
Agora Gallery is pleased to present Spring Awakenings, an exhibition of recent works by nine emerging artists: Jerry Anderson; Maria Beykirch; Abigail Custis; Lizzy Forrester; Nancy Holleran; Becky Sungja Kim; Maribel Matthews; Margit Enggaard Poulsen; and Jenna Rose Simon.
Ranging from abstracted landscapes and painterly pastoral scenes to playful still lifes and evocative portraits, the diverse works in Spring Awakenings feature fresh perspectives on traditional subject matter. Breathing new life into established methods, these artists create alternative ways of seeing, elevating the everyday and disrupting conventional views. By re-visioning the ordinary, the artists included in Spring Awakenings present new worlds, creations in which quotidian scenes are imbued with excitement and wonder. Bright, tender, emotive, and confident, the varied offerings in Spring Awakenings seek new beginnings.
Spring Awakenings will open April 28 with a reception Thursday, May 3, 2018 6-8 PM and will remain on view until May 18, 2018. Entrance is free.
