The Full Monty: Male Nudes from the Collection
The male nude has been a primary motif of painters and sculptors since Greek and Roman antiquity. This exhibition focuses on prints and drawings of male nudes by twentieth-century greats Paul Cadmus, Charles Demuth, George Bellows, and Thomas Hart Benton as well as contemporary graphics by David Hockney and Beth Van Hoesen. Drawn from the McNay’s collection in addition to loans from The Tobin Theatre Arts Fund, this is the first exhibition focusing on this strength of the collection in decades, a rare opportunity to see some of the most beautiful figural works in the McNay’s works on paper collection.
