An exhibition of recent work by the contemporary French painter Do Fournier with be featured at the Anderson Galleries during the summer season. Fournier creates fantastic, colorful and intimate works drawn from the environs of her home in France that overlooks the sea. Her daughters, grandchildren, pets and fascinating collection of rugs, textiles and objects are her primary subjects and inspiration. The figures are often in repose or engaged in the simple pleasures of everyday life. In the tradition the Nabis artists Maurice Denis, Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard she transforms these domestic interiors into paintings that are truly extraordinary; an eccentric yet beguiling world of her own imagination.
