Arte Povera received renewed interest in 2017 with the fiftieth anniversary of art critic Germano
Celant’s seminal essay, Arte Povera: Notes for a Guerrilla War. This lecture will provide historical
overview and examine Arte Povera’s critical reception in the United States, contextualizing it among other
international Post-War movements. Market prices and important auctions will be discussed, as well as
conservation, authentication, and export issues.
