BRUSSELS (AP) - Two armed robbers in masks made off with a $1.1 million painting by Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte in a morning heist at a small museum in the Belgian capital on Thursday. NEW YORK - Asian Art Week, amid the most entrenched art-market recession in nearly two decades, saw many auction prices go through the roof while other sales languished with 40% unsold lots. Together, Christie's and Sotheby's raised about $56 million, high above expectations. Works from the Sackler collection soared, including a 12th-century B.C. bronze vessel, estimated at about $25,000, which sold for $362,500 at Christie's where 70% of works went to Asian bidders.
