Over 30,000 works of art, from antiquities to modern paintings, much of it desirable for pedigree, rarity, and beauty, will descend upon the Dutch town of Maastricht from March 12 to 21. With 263 top-tier exhibitors bringing the best of their blue-chip art, plus special sections for design, works on paper, and new galleries, this highly anticipated fair is already creating buzz.
Paintings by Paul Gauguin and Willem de Koonig, furniture designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and a Giacometti cat sculpture, have been touted as highlights of TEFAF 2010.
Also offered will be an exquisite Gothic altarpiece by Giovanni Di Paolo, an 1822 Portrait of George Washington by Gilbert Stuart, and an exceptional carved Chinese seal from the Kangxi period.
