The Philippine government will hold a public exhibit and auction of the jewelry collection of the widow of Ferdinand Marcos, Imelda, this spring. Experts have appraised the ill-gotten collection at about 1bn pesos ($21m).
Marcos's jewelry was seized after the popluar revolt that took down her husband's dictatorship in 1986 when the Marcos family fled to Hawaii.
The sale will take place before the end of President Benigno Aquino III's term in June, say officals. Highlights include a 25-carat, barrel-shaped diamond worth at least $5 million.
