Ever wondered what your doppelgänger looked like if painted by the likes of Gainsborough, Sargent or Picasso?

Google's got an app for that. A new feature of the Google Arts and Culture App will match an image of your face with a painted portrait that looks like you.

The app does not work in every country, yet, and some poeple have worried that their photo will be used in another project or database, which Google denies.

"When you take a photo with this feature, your photo is sent to Google to find artworks that look like you," a message reads. "Google won't use data from your photo for any other purpose and will only store your photo for the time it takes to search for matches."

With its database of thousands of artworks from museums and institutions, Google has an array of portraits to match with your selfie.

The app can be downloaded for free from the app store on iOS and Android.
